Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We charge $85 for coming out and will be free with the repair. We have flat rate, not hourly, you don't pay for our slow work (if we do so :)). No unnecessary upselling.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. Make the appointment (online at SantaAir.Com (easiest) or Text, Phone, Email...) 2. Call or Text before we go. 3. Perform the diagnosis 4. Describe the problem and options to the customer 5. Get the approval from the customer 6. Get the job done 7. Collect the payment 8. Warranty I carry most of the common parts on the truck so most of the time, the job can be done in just one visit. I offer a 1-year warranty for all the jobs that have the replacement part

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
If you are looking for someone that can do the job quick, right, save money in the long run and willing to pay the fair price for the value of the job, we're your guy :)

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
This is a good question. The air handler kept blowing hot air no matter what. I knew that's the problem with the control board when the customer told me the symptom. After a quick check to confirm the problem, the customer agreement for the repair. I got the board replaced and it's up and running. The whole job took about 20 mins. Which usually take someone else a couple of hours or days to diagnose, order the part, go back and forth and then get it replaced. I got the right part on hand and doesn't need the second visit. That saves the customer time and money.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are two most important thing: They must be honest and be the expert on what they're doing. They must have both. Price is also important but you don't want to pay the cheap guy and they don't do the job correctly. It may cost you more money in the long run. This is a great case study: I have the customer that had someone to install the Nest thermostat for $120. It sounds too good. The problem is it didn't utilize the energy saving so it is not able to save money in the long run. I charge $80 more ($200) but can set it up and make it save $10/month (probably more). It saves the customer over $200 in 2 years. So which one is less expensive?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
There's no one-size-fits-all contractor, so you need to find the one that works best for you. Here are some questions that you need to ask yourself. 1. Do I think about the long run or short term? 2. Do I want to save money now and spend later or spend now and save a lot later? 3. Do I need to work with the professional and get the job done right or work with someone less expensive and worry about what they do? Once you have the answers, uou know who to hire
