Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All Clear DVC has three price points for residential dryer vent cleaning and the price is determined by where the exterior dryer vent cover is located on the house. Ground level is 159, second story is 169 and third story or rooftop is 179. Please see our website SERVICE page for details.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When we arrive at the home we will check the airflow and take a few pictures inside the pipe. We will then share those with the customer and give our recommendation. If the customer chooses to have the vent cleaned we will then hook up our HEPA vacuum in the laundry room and scour the pipe from end to end with a rod and brush. After pictures will also be taken and shared with the customer before we take payment.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All Clear Dryer Vent Cleaning was established by Dan Millman, an entrepreneur and Kansas City native. Dan has been involved in the vent cleaning business for many years accumulating specialized knowledge about the proper process of dryer vent cleaning but more importantly, the hazards of improperly vented systems and the dangers associated with neglecting them. His desire is to educate people on the importance of regular maintenance to prevent unnecessary tragedies.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Dan was employed by a local HVAC duct cleaning company for several years before opening All Clear Dryer Vent Cleaning. The company he was working for cleaned dryer vents as as a side service, but Dan didn't feel the process he was required to use was very effective. So, after some research and finding equipment specifically designed for cleaning dryer vents, he decided to go into business for himself.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Senior Residential Communities, Hotels, Beauty Colleges, Salons, Veterinary Hospitals and Clinics, Pet Groomers and Physical Therapy Clinics, and thousands of residential home owners in the Kansas City metro area.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We are proud of all the work we do here at All Clear DVC! For most jobs, the process takes approximately an hour. Of course there are exceptions and it could take a little more or a little less depending on the layout and length of the dryer vent run.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You do not need to be licensed to do dryer vent cleaning, so make sure you use a reputable company who has the knowledge and experience to do the job correctly!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The most important would be to ask what method of cleaning the company uses. Some companies jiggle a fish tape in the pipe knocking out big clumps which leaves everything that's adhered to the pipe wall....this is the least effective method. Other companies used reverse compressed air. This is an OK method but it is still not as effective as the rod and brush system we use.
