Introduction

Mike’s a handyman Lic# MIKESH*768QE I'm general contractors in WA. Not licensed or working in Idaho at this time. Started with Thumbtack at the end of Oct 2024. As a General Contractor I can do everything EXCEPT EXCEPT - Plumbing and Electrical, both of which require a different license specific to those particular trades. Those are subbed out. I can remodel your home from basic painting to adding walls. Cabinet and countertop installation, trim/base board/ crown molding including wainscoting. Replace your flooring etc. I also assemble furniture and hang TV's/pictures. Thank you Michael Berry Mike's a Handyman

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to text or phone to talk with you to get an idea of what you're looking to have done. If it's difficult to explain, then I like to come and see the project site. That way I can see if it's something I want to take on.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I did electrical and commercial tenant improvement back in the 1980's That's where most of my experience comes from. Then I've owned 3 homes and have done most of the improvements myself over the past 30 yrs. Things like paint, flooring, sinks/disposals, all my electrical. Even built my own sheds.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Simply helping out people who were unable to do it themselves.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I mainly work with homeowners

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My first project is the decorative patio that's featured. It turned out beautifully leveled without any dips. I'm really pleased with the "Stairway to Heaven", the owner hadn't been able to get to her bench up on the hill for almost 2 yrs. It was really satisfying to help her out.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the contractor is LICENSED. I met a man who had work done, they weren't licensed, rafters were 3' apart and ended on the property line, both of which aren't to building codes. A very expensive lesson.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Are they Licensed?
