Introduction

Hi there, My name is Mark Price, I grew up fixing things. My Grandpa used to tell me Grandson, if you don't have the time to fix something right the first time, how are you going to have the time to do it over? That is how I fix things, right the first time. I love what I do that's why I'm the fixologist extraordinaire, I am proficient in the use of all tools and I can fix anything, even the stuff they say is not fixable and do it in a timely manner.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricings are fair. I'm not the highest or lowest.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I've always felt that a person to person is the best way. We can do it over the phone or email but in person is the best.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I would say that over 50 years of experience is adequate.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
When I was 7 years old I tore down the power wire that goes to the house. Grandpa comes outside and looks at the house, looks at the power wire laying on the ground, looks at me, then does it again and says to me "Grandson, guess what you get to do this morning", that was the beginning of it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds, all colors, all nationalities. I work with everyone.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my favorites was a group of 4 antique Italian leather chairs that my cust has had for 25 years and she bought them at a antique shop back then. They were in terrible condition when I agreed to take the project on. It took about three weeks to get the whole project completed and now they look like new.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
best advice I would give would be to just be careful. I redo so much work that other people have done that are supposed to be professionals that it makes me wonder how they are still in business. There are a lot of drug addicts out there that must think that all they have to do is do poor work and get paid for it so they can get high, or drunk, or whatever. I personally don't see how you could take advantage of people that way. I was brought up to do everything the right way, the first time. That sometimes takes a little while longer but if I have done the work, it was done correctly.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How much experience does the person have and can they speak to any customers that the person has worked with in the past. A lot of people get hung up on weather or not the professional has a license or not. I'll share something with you, anyone with $135 can get a license to do this type of work, there is no experience necessary do that a lot of people who don't know how or care about the quality of their work, go get a license and do really sub standard work just so they can get high. One of the most important one to think about it not to completely pay for the project up front. It's industry standard to pay up to 50% of projected project cost that way the professional can get supplies and what not.
