Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
You can expect the best pricing on Trane equipment! We will also happily give a second opinion if you are not happy with a quote received from a different business.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Listen to their needs, and provide courteous, honest, and professional advice.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Associates degree in Applied Sciences with a focus on Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My father is a plumber and advised me to go into HVAC. I started as a warehouse guy for a company, and then while in college I took the opportunity to be an HVAC installer. After some time I accepted a position at Johnson Controls where I got most of my commercial HVAC and controls experience.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Everywhere from young homeowners to commercial contractors, doing both installation and repair work in both sectors.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was called to give a second opinion by a homeowner who were quoted upwards of 20K to replace their system. When I arrived and carried out my diagnosis, I realized the system was not in bad shape and could certainly be repaired. We were able to get their air conditioning back up and cooling for less than $1,000. Honesty and integrity, keeping the homeowner's interest at heart goes a long way.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the person you hire is trustworthy. This industry, as is the case with other trades, is full of people that either don't know what they are doing or will charge you an arm and a leg for something you may not necessarily need.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If your equipment is in need of repair, it is very helpful in my opinion when the home owner or client can describe the symptoms the system is showing, as it will get my mind troubleshooting before I even arrive to the home, and can help me get them back up and running sooner.
