What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Please don't Hire people to do work "on the side" From experience this leads to poorly done work and while it might "work" normally they cut corners on safety and craftsmanship creating a bad image of all providers. Check their Home improvement contractor registration number with the attorney general. This is required to be renewed every 2 years and to supply insurance so you have atleast the very minimum level of protection.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
-When do I want this done by (have a time frame in mind and tell the professional) -How much can I afford to pay for this project monthly or in total. ( having an idea of what can work for you and communicating it with the pros will make it a smoother experience where possible.)
