Introduction

Like any coach, we plan. prepare, and execute to win every game. The Handy Coach will do the same with you and your repairs. Coach has a variety of skills/traits that he has learned through his growth in the automotive world and has applied those to jobs and repairs for himself and friends/family. Coach's focus is quality, never cutting corners, and making sure the customer is taken care of. I will always let you know what I can and can’t do. For example, I can replace existing electrical and plumbing fixtures, but I cannot add new electrical or plumbing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have a minimum $100 trip charge. I price by the job, not by the hour. I pride myself on the quality of my work, not my quantity. #1 thing is, I want my customers to be happy with the work completed so I get future work from them.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Communicate with them right away to find out if I can truly help them with their job. If I am not the man for the job, I will tell them so they can find someone that can and I will recommend someone, if possible.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I grew up in the automotive world; working on cars and engines. Handyman work was just part of my upbringing, if there was an issue my dad and I would figure it out. I have learned pretty much everything from my father. The skills he has taught me have given me the knowledge and confidence to tackle almost any job and they have worked for about 40 years now.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Friends and family asked me if I could help them out by doing projects or fixing problems. Working on projects around our home. My wife asked me, "Why don't you put these skills to use and start a Handyman business?"

What types of customers have you worked with?

A real estate company, friends, family, and hopefully you and your family. Customers that needed small jobs (home and auto) done and they did not have the knowledge or time to get it done themselves.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A real estate re-located their business and they needed a variety of jobs completed. I replaced multiple light fixtures, painted the front door and trim, fixed a bi-fold door, and did many other small projects. I have been there on different occasions as the different jobs came up. See photos

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Speak and communicate with them. Be clear on what you want done, look into their references/past work, and ask questions. If they are new to the business, if you like what you have heard from them; give them a chance, you may have just found your next handyman.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Think of their project/job and ask them if they have ever done this before. What other types of projects/jobs have you completed? Do you have a few references? What kind of time frame do they want this completed in? What is their availability? What other type of work do you do?
