Introduction

At Breezeway Air Duct Cleaning, we feel our work stands out from the other air duct cleaning companies because we are not competing with other companies. We are in direct competition with ourselves. Our customer service is like none other. We guarantee you will love us and keep us coming back! We love that we're actually taking the dust, allergens and potential toxins out of the air of our customer's homes and then sanitizing and deodorizing the ducts which kills the germs and takes out any odors caused by the dust build-up in the ducts. It's rewarding to know that we just helped a family by knowing that they are now breathing clean, sanitary air when they're at home. Also, when it comes to dryer ducts, sometimes it takes homeowners 2 cycles just to dry one load of laundry, which is unnecessary and wastes power and gas. We've helped a lot of our customers save $ by doing dryer duct cleaning for them, which allows the hot air to travel through the vents with no blockages. It's also really rewarding just leaving a customer's home when the project is done knowing that I helped them in a way that they may not understand, but we do good deeds and feel great about what we do.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We are transparent about our pricing. Your project price directly reflects your scope of work, which will be clearly outlined and broken-down in your proposal. We will send a digital proposal so you can review and accept or decline in a paperless manner (friendly to the environment). Call with questions anytime!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. We speak with our potential customer and ask them questions about their project so as to establish the exact scope of work needed/wanted. 2. During this initial phone call, we will describe our scope of work and process, to give our clients a very clear understanding/visual of exactly what they can expect, and what we will be doing for them! 3. We price out the scope of work they want, and put together a proposal which we will email over via DocuSign. This is a paperless and simple way for the customer to review/accept/decline our proposal. 4. If proposal is accepted, we will be notified by DocuSign, at which point our Office Manager will contact you to make an appointment for your service. 5. We are available at all times by text/email to address any questions or concerns and/or for coordination. We respond very rapidly, are rated 5-stars on Yelp and have an A-rating on Angie's List. 6. We take excellent care of our customers and provide them with a very thorough and high quality scope of work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Over a decade ago, I worked for another air duct cleaning company who moved to Seattle. I became Foreman for them and worked there for a very long time. It became my passion to do this kind of work and I decided I wanted to start my own business doing air duct cleaning and dryer duct cleaning. I've always wanted to have my own business, so when I discovered that air duct cleaning was my passion, I knew what I wanted to do and did it. And I have been helping all of my residential and commercial clients ever since!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We service residential and commercial customers. Our residential customers are typically homeowners or renters who use a central air system. Many of our clients have indoor air allergies and want the dust cleaned out of their systems, or they are aware that their systems need a cleaning so they request a quote, or they are expecting parents, have a newborn or young children. Many of our residential clients have been getting their air duct systems cleaning recently due to the recent California Wildfires and want the wood smoke cleaned out of their air systems (makes sense).

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Well, just a few days ago a customer called in to receive an estimate for a home air duct cleaning project. They had 7 vents in the home and also wanted their dryer duct cleaned out. We found out that they had contacted another company which suggested they replace all of the ducts in their homes, which would cost approx. $3,200 - while it was possible that this was necessary, I went to their home to do the estimate and give a 2nd opinion, and it turns out that they did not need a duct replacement at all. I was very happy they had contacted us, because I know I just saved them from spending $3,200 unnecessary dollars. We did a standard air duct cleaning service for them which they were very satisfied with - their ducts were definitely dirty and needed a cleaning as it had actually been over 10 years for that home since the last cleaning. But this project came to mind when filling out this survey because it just happened the other day and we were shocked that it was suggested they replace the ducts after coming out to take a look for ourselves!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
1. We recommend that homeowners, renters, building managers, etc. check the customer reviews of the air duct cleaning company they're looking to hire. To us, reviews are worth a thousand words. 2. Get at least 3 quotes, and when you do, ENSURE that you receive a WRITTEN proposal with a detailed scope of work, so that you clearly understand what is being proposed, so you can't be taken advantage of. 3. If you are told that you have mold or asbestos by an air duct cleaning company who is not a certified mold testing company or not a licensed asbestos abatement contractor, we recommend throwing that illegal opinion in the garbage. If you suspect mold, contact a certified mold testing company. If you suspect asbestos, contact a licensed mold abatement contractor. Many "air duct cleaning companies" will tell you that you have mold or asbestos to trick you into replacing your air ducts (much more expensive) rather than cleaning them. Don't be fooled! 4. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Take your time. Air duct cleaning is not a life or death matter, it's a cleaning service. It's an important cleaning service, and you want to make sure you are getting the results that you expect. So take your time and find the company that suits your needs and that you feel confident will do an excellent job for you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. How long has it been since the air ducts were last cleaned? 2. Are you or is anyone in your household allergic to dust or indoor air particulates? 3. What is the reason you're looking for the air duct cleaning service? 4. Are you moving into a new home? 5. Has it been too long and you're ready to bite the bullet and get the central air system cleaned?
