Introduction

We are a local Southbay heating & cooling company based in Torrance. We specialize in home comfort here in Southbay. That means these old heating & cooling systems located in Southbay are no problem. From changing filters in your furnace, to repairing your air conditioner to advanced air filtration for your home. Diagnosing problems & improving your heating & cooling systems is all we do, everyday of the year...from simple repairs, to installing the most efficient heating & cooling systems on the planet. All repairs carry a lifetime warranty. Our repairs stay repaired! Old floor furnace and old wall furnace repairs are no problem, we actually love working on very old equipment. We have the experience & resources to readily identify & repair problems with very old equipment. We promise every customer who calls us for a repair will get a technician capable of that repair and not a technician just trying to sell a new piece of equipment! One of our main goals is to educate our customers to technologies available for their homes to increase comfort and lower costs. We have equipment & systems for every type of home to fit any budget. All field personnel have at least ten years of field experience and a licensed HVAC contractor is on site at all installs.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We are a family run company with no commissions. Everyone is on salary, there are no sales commissions on anything, which allows our pricing to be extremely competitive.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Depends on if it's a repair or an installation of new equipment. New equipment requires a no cost in-home survey to determine what's best for this customer and what's best for this home. then we discuss options. It's important to balance benefits with cost. What works for one household may not be the best choice for your household.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
There are three of us with California Contractor Licenses and three installers which are Nate Certified. Four of us have been through BPI training, Three of us have been through California HERS training. All of us have been through factory training from all the major manufacturers. No one in the field has less than 10 years of in field experience and no one installing or repairing is under 35 years old. Everyone in the company has chosen HVAC as their permanent profession.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
A masters degree in mechanical engineering was the start. Designing mechanical systems in large commercial buildings out of college came next. Then came residential design and repair.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Everything from 900 square foot bungalow style homes to 15,000 sq ft estates with environmental system designed for extensive art collections. Convenience store cooling to environmental systems to grow a million marijuana plants. Residential heating & cooling is our preference, but we still perform commercial repair & installation.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We just converted a home that was gas central heating to an ultra efficiency VRV heat pump system that cost less than a refrigerator to run. This system runs 24/7 to filter and clean the air, breathing the air in this home is like being in the Rocky Mountains. Fresh air 24/7....no stuffy nose when you wake up, no odors other than fresh air.....all the time. Came out great. Guests in the home mention the air to our customers!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If you are looking for repair, don't hire someone that just wants to sell you a new piece of equipment. If you are looking to replace or add equipment, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE AND doing the job right the first time. Guaranteed, with today's higher efficiency equipment.....a poor installation will come back to haunt you a few years down the road....always.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the experience level of the technician or installers. What are there ages. Who is the resident engineer in case of an issue. Is anyone being paid on commission. Is any of the work being subbed out to subcontractors. Is everyone you are dealing with an employee. How much time have the installers been given to complete the job.
