Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We Know Not Everyone Has a Wheelbarrow Full of Project Money, so we offer 100% Financing On OAC. Typical monthly Roof payment is about the same as your cell phone bill!!!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We set up a personal appointment with one of our consultants and understand that each project is different and not a, "one size fits all" project. DL Baker Homes LLC puts our customer and their needs first.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
David has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry from finish work to consulting and has lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 40 years. Lisa, has a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in HR in conjunction with many years as a professional business person. Our approach to business is doing it the right way, the first time, every time.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
David has been in the trades for as long as he can remember and has always loved this type of work. It is very satisfying to renovate a part of someone's home (something we know and understand they have worked hard for) and to look back on your work and see that it makes the home look better or even more that it is safer for the customer and their family. It's not about us - it's about the client; first and foremost.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
In our line of work you meet and work with all types of people in all types of economical and social settings. We enjoy working with people from all walks of life!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently did a siding project for someone who runs an Adult Day Care Center out of their home. Other contractor's didn't want to work with this client because the project was (in their opinion) too small. We re-did the siding on the front of the home and the project turned out stellar. It was rewarding to help this client because of the kind of facility that they have and the importance of ensuring that the home is safe and secure for both the homeowner and the Senior Adults that call this place home during the week.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the provider is licensed and bonded in your state of residence. Don't always accept the lowest bid - a low bid may mean low quality materials. Also, contracts should be as detailed as possible and make sure to read and understand your contract before signing it. It is also a good idea to fully understand any warranties that come with your project.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about the scope of the work; is this a repair or a replacement? What kind of a budget do I have for this project? Is this something a handyman would do or do I need a licensed and bonded contractor? For example if you have a window where the seal is broken is this a warranty issue that you want to pursue or would you rather replace and not haggle with the manufacturer? There are many things to consider when taking on a project for your home. The main thing to think about when hiring someone to do work at your residence is that they are reputable and ethical; your home is one of the biggest purchases most consumer's will ever make and that investment needs to be well taken care of.
