What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are a lot of companies who can install HVAC systems. Your investment in a new HVAC system needs looked after and cared for. Ensure the company will not give you a fast farewell after the installation. Every company can look great when the job goes perfectly and no issues occur, however the approach and integrity a company demonstrates when their is a problem that needs corrected, or concerns to address will truly define the value of the company you hire. Read reviews and get to know the company as homeowners often have long term relationships with the HVAC company of choice—you want that relationship to be on a solid footing of trust.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

While price is important—it can cost a bit more to get the job done right. The lowest bid can often be a low for a reason. Is the company licensed, pulling permits, registering your warranty? Installations are never cookie cutter processes, and knowing the codes for your home is critical. Every home is unique and offers their own challenges. Estimators should be evaluating the whole house, not just the box needing pulled out and replaced. HVAC systems are not refrigerators. It is the heart and lungs of a home and need assessed properly to ensure sizing is correct, airflow, drainage, placement, and filtration is accounted for. Is the system you are being quoted for qualified for any rebates, incentives, or tax credits on the Inflation Reduction Act? The estimator you meet with should be able to provide the answers you need. Are there financing options or discounts applicable?
